River Point, Chicago’s ultra-modern high-rise office tower being developed by Ivanhoé Cambridge; Hines; and Levy Family Partners, has topped out at 52-stories.
The 1.1-million-square-foot building is located in Chicago’s West Loop submarket and is designed by Pickard Chilton. River Point will offer world-class architecture and first-class amenities, including a 1.5-acre public park and landscaped river walk, restaurants, a fitness center and extraordinary views of the Chicago River and Lake Michigan. The building has been designed to achieve LEED Gold.
General contractor Lendlease raised the final beam for the building in a ceremony attended by teammates from Hines and Lendlease.
“After years of planning, watching this tower take its place in the skyline is incredibly satisfying,” said Hines Senior Managing Director Greg Van Schaack. “When delivered, River Point will provide tenants with not only unparalleled views of the city, but also the technological requirements and other amenities necessary for our tenants to compete in today’s landscape.”
“Everyone at Ivanhoé Cambridge is proud of the way River Point’s architecture will make the Chicago skyline even more spectacular,” said Ivanhoé Cambridge Executive Vice President, Office North America Arthur Lloyd. “Our tenants will benefit from an unparalleled downtown experience, directly connected to the river, to urban transit and its urban surroundings.”
“We’re very proud to celebrate the topping out of this world-class project that has reshaped the iconic Chicago skyline,” said Lendlease Executive General Manager Jeff Riemer. “I want to acknowledge the combined efforts of Hines, Ivanhoé Cambridge, our design and construction partners and the Lendlease project team for reaching this important project milestone, and especially thank the trades people who have worked tirelessly to get us to this point.”
