Chicago-based law firm Sidley Austin LLP has preleased 75,000 square feet at the new McKinney & Olive office building in Uptown Dallas.
Crescent Real Estate Holdings LLC broke ground June 19, and construction is now underway at the development located at 2021 McKinney Avenue. The Class A+ office space will include 480,000 square feet, with Sidley Austin occupying the top two and a half floors.
Cassidy Turley Executive Managing Director Craig Wilson and Vice Chairman Randy Cooper represented Sidley Austin. Developer Crescent Real Estate Holdings was represented in-house by John Zogg.
McKinney & Olive will be in the heart of Uptown Dallas adjacent to The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas, and a few blocks from The Crescent, an office tower and upscale retail atrium. The McKinney Avenue Trolley service offers easy access to Klyde Warren Park, the Dallas Arts District, and numerous fine dining and entertainment options in both Uptown and Downtown.
“The top floors at McKinney & Olive will arguably be the most attractive and unique address in Dallas,” Mr. Wilson said. “It is fitting that Sidley, one of the world’s preeminent law firms, will call it their home in North Texas.”
Sidley is a global law firm with more than 1,800 attorneys in 18 offices around the world. The firm experienced significant growth in Dallas over the past year and relocated to Trammell Crow Center earlier this year. The firm is ready to secure a new long-term office in the city to support future operations and chose the top floors of McKinney & Olive.
“Sidley is excited to become a major tenant in Crescent’s beautiful new McKinney & Olive development,” said Yvette Ostolaza, Sidley’s Dallas office Managing Partner. “The quality of the building, its location and its ownership were all factors that convinced us McKinney & Olive was the best location for us to continue our growth and success in Texas.”
In April, law firm Gardere Wynne Sewell became the building’s anchor tenant, leasing floors 9-12.
