The World-Wide Group’s 21-story, 421-unit multi-family development continues to rapidly rise at Queens Plaza North and 24th Street in Long Island City, the company has reached two significant project milestones. The building will officially be called “QLIC,” a name chosen to celebrate the flourishing Long Island City neighborhood. Additionally, aptsandlofts.com has been selected as the project’s exclusive leasing agent.
Construction at QLIC has already reached the 7th floor and, when completed, the building will stand 21-stories tall with a mix of studio to three bedroom rental units. The new development is located in the heart of Long Island City’s bustling 24/7 neighborhood and offers superb transportation access. Eight subway lines are available within a five block radius. The entrance to the building is adjacent to Long Island City’s highly-used bike path to Manhattan.
“When World-Wide began looking for a firm to lease QLIC, we sought a team that – while familiar with the area’s market trends – would also enhance our residents’ experience by offering an in-depth understanding of Long Island City and its multifaceted character and appeal,” said David Lowenfeld, executive vice president of The World-Wide Group. “aptsandlofts.com perfectly fits this mold, and their team will add great value to both The World-Wide Group and QLIC’s residents. We couldn’t be happier to have them onboard.”
QLIC will provide over 25,000 square feet of amenities – including a rooftop outdoor pool with a landscaped deck which overlooks the Manhattan skyline, a state-of-the-art fitness center, private gardens, indoor parking and bike room. In addition, QLIC residents are just steps away from a variety of retail, dining, art and cultural destinations.
“QLIC will meet the demands of many of our clients who are seeking apartments that feature the full conveniences and services of Manhattan living, particularly top-of-the-line amenity packages, and ample living space,” said David Maundrell, president of aptsandlofts.com. “To top it all off, residents can commute home from Manhattan on the subway in less than five minutes, leaving enough time to hop in the building’s pool for a leisurely swim or get in a workout at the fitness center.”
Based in New York City, The World-Wide Group, headed by Victor Elmaleh, Chairman, and James Stanton, President, have been engaged in real estate development for over half a century. Their residential developments include The Steiner Building, Park Belvedere, 53 Park Place, 71 Broadway, the Belaire, the Milan, 88 Greenwich, 50 Murray and 255 East 74th Street.
QLIC is expected to open its doors to residents in early 2015.
