The Leaning Towers of Paris

The center of Paris may be off-limits to developers and architects, but skyscrapers are quickly popping up along the edges of the city. By 2018, the Paris skyline will include two new leaning skyscrapers. These towers will rise in the Masséna district of southeast Paris, in the 13th arrondissement, just inside the Péripherique, which divides Paris from the surrounding suburbs. Designed by star architect Jéan Nouvel (who is known for Minneapolis’ Guthrie Theater and Paris’ Arab World Institute designs), the high-rises were originally dubbed the Leaning Towers of Paris.
