NGKF has been appointed as the exclusive leasing agent for 1 Tower Lane (Oakbrook Terrace Tower) in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois, the tallest building in the state outside of Chicago.
Blackstone Group acquired the property in April of this year in a transaction where they acquired most of the assets of GE Capital Real Estate for about $23 billion, including $3.3 billion in U.S. real estate.
“We are thrilled to be working with Equity Office and The Blackstone Group, on this prominent Oakbrook Terrace asset,” said John Clark, senior managing director in NGKF’s Chicago office. Clark will lead NGKF’s brokerage team along with Rob Lundin, senior managing director and John Norris, managing director.
Oakbrook Terrace Tower is a Class A, 792,192-square-foot office building located in the western suburbs of Chicago. Built in 1987, the 31-story property was designed by the renowned architect Helmut Jahn and displays the architect’s trademarks, including horizontal stripes and a blue glass facade.
The building features a five-story lobby boasting Italian marble, expansive views of the western suburbs and downtown Chicago, a fitness center, conference center, food service, on-site management, on-site security and an executive underground garage.
The building is the headquarters of movie rental company Redbox and Lemonheads maker Ferrara Candy.
